This has been covered before so I apologize right up front.

I was driving my 98 323 home from work today and thought what a marvelous little car this has been and is, It has 155K on the Odo and not a drop of oil does it use, nor does it give really any problems. That said at some point in the future the MTBF rate has to catch up with it and the engine will need replacing. I completely rebuilt the front end 3 years ago so no problems there. The body is rust free, interior in really good condition....so why change?

I am a 59 year old who does not need a new car to impress anyone....so if my 2.5 steel block went south today what would you choose for a replacement....of course buying a used engine...and I would want as much HP as possible while being normally aspirated

325e Starting Issue

I recently acquired a e30 325e in pretty good condition externally but it seems to have a starting issue. When I go to start it there seems to be excessive cranking to get it going, some times it will go other times it wont. I tried today twice, at 10 o'clock it wouldn't go but at noon it started right up. The previous owner had taken it to a few shops to get it checked out, try to get a list of everything they did. He said they cleaned the injectors and throttle body, checked cold start injector and new plugs. They said the car seems to be getting to much gas vs not enough, once the car runs it runs fine and won't die out but on some hills it seems to lug a bit and hard to pick up speed.

I pulled the vacuum line off the fpr and that didn't seem to aid in starting, switched the O2 relay and fuel pump relay no change at all. Wondering if fuel pump may be getting weak or fpr?

325e Starting Issue

E39 FS: 30k/60k mile Facelift OE USA Hella E39 Xenon Headlamps complete w/all bulbs NICE!

These super minty OE Hella US spec headlights from my 60K mile fully garaged 2001 M5 are up for sale. Why? Because the driver's side headlight needs adjuster repair and so I bought some DJ Auto lenses for my 540iT and then put the 85K mile lights from that car (new adjusters) into the M5. Now the lowest mileage headlamps you're likely to ever come across are for sale.

Given their condition, age, and completeness with all the bulbs I'm asking $600 plus shipping in the USA.

Things you need to know about these:

• The passenger side headlight is original to the car and has 60k miles on it but has been covered by X-pel headlamp protection since it was only 15k or so miles old.
• The driver side headlight (build date 01/06 as far as I can read that tiny thing) was replaced by BMWNA under goodwill warranty when the car had about 30k on it, so it only has 30k on it. It appears I never got around to adding X-pel to it so I can make that available to you if you buy these. It has some water spots on the inside from my dumb a** when I cleaned them up for the photos (moisture got in). They don't leak - I must have misted up into the rubber drains accidentally. I think if you install some clear protection it would be hard to see but I tried to capture it in the photos below.
• The passenger side (build date 06/01) headlight will require adjuster repair if you care about having level headlights
• Both lights are fully functional except needing adjuster repair on the passenger side, and both come with ballasts and bulbs as shown (including low beam Xenon, high beam H7, OE angel eye, and corner/signal light)
• I'm the second owner of this car and these have been in my care since almost new (passenger side) and new (driver side)
