I have a E38 in the shop and we recently completed the Timing Chain Guide Job. We retimed the engine but the customer is still getting INPA Code 34 "Camshaft Control Bank 2".
So Far We Have Replaced & Completed:
* Both Camshaft Position Sensors (I read somewhere that there are 4 in this engine)
* Complete RE-Time of VANOS
*Replacement of VANOS Solenoids
*INPA Diagnostics (thats the only code)
The CEL comes on 2-3 seconds after you start the vehicle. Even after you reset it.
If anyone has had this problem please let me know. In my experience of BMW's i have never had this happen to me.
Could it be the crank position sensor, let me know. Thanks.
