First poster here, I know i can search this question on the forums, but i want some of your opinions. So I'm on the search for a new car, my first BMW was a e30 cabrio, I now own a e46 330ci.
Here's where i need your help, I absolutely love the look of the z3 coupes. Im looking at buying either a z3 coupe, 128i, or a zhp if the right car comes.
So i've found 128i's for around $10-13k price range, and same with z3 coupes (non-m). The 128i is 3ish generations newer than the z3 (about 7 years give or take), has the 3.0L engine and has technology upgrades (bluetooth, xexon headlights, etc.) the 1 series look does appeal to me, but the z3 coupe has the upperhand looks-wise.
The z3 coupe would be either a 2.8L or 3.0L, probably a 1999 or 2000 model (for my price range). So im just worried about problems with the z3 coupe, i realize the maintenance will be very similar, but im looking for a solid daily driver i can use for the next 5-10 years (all season car, summer/winter). The 330ci i have now has gone 80k miles with no major problems at all, so something similar to that. So should i sacrifice looks (z3 coupe) over reliability (128i)?
