well maintained low mileage car 109,000 runs perfect, doesnt smoke, never leaked. A major oil leak just developed somewhere up front. The lady noticed a puddle under the car yesterday and low oil. I checked it out and its definitely leaking oil. the whole underside is wet and fresh and the fan looks to be flinging some around. peaking around, it looks like its wet behind the belts, all the way up near the water pump and noticed some oil soaked areas right under the intake manifold behind the throttle body.
When we purchased the car last year it had a slight miss and I found a bad injector, replaced it and ran great. also did Valve cover gasket since i seen small pooling, new plugs, trans filter/fluid with correct factory filter and Shell fluid and oil changed with synthetic. car has ran great and clean until now. My question is there any common leak areas for these engines? It doesnt look to be coming from any mating points on the engine (timing cover, head, valve cover) but i could be wrong, Where could the oil be comming from up so high near the intake like that? its bad enough that I wont let her drive it until i fix it. something happened quick here as its always been dry on, under and around the engine until now. Im newer to these cars but have always worked on my older american classics so any help with understanding these cars is appreciated.
btw, I do have a Bentley manual.
thanks!
