AC blows warm air at idle and low speeds

I just purchased a 1997 Z3 last week, 75k, and I have noticed that when I drive it with the AC on, and pull up to a stop light, the cold air is replaced by warm air, once I start moving again, cold air returns. Does anyone know why it's doing this?
