2002 540i w/6spd swap.
I am on a roadtrip to see some family this week. After I got off the highway last night (about 5 hours of driving highway nonstop), I started getting a flickering oil pressure warning light (the red idiot light) while idling. It would disappear as soon as I gave it any gas At the third red light, I got the "low oil pres stop eng" OBC message. I stopped the car and checked the oil, it was near the top mark on the dipstick, where I keep it. I did have some oil which seemed to have sprayed onto the intake tract just before the bend where it meets the throttle body, along with some on the front of the beauty cover.
Anyways, after a few minutes I set off again--no problem at the first stop, and then the same flickering light at every time I idle thereafter. Putting on the AC raised the idle from 500 to 700, and the light disappeared.
This morning, I had a nice 5" diameter oil spot under the car, and a P0141 CEL--bank 1 sensor 2, which I had replaced four months ago.
Driveability seems fine, no loss of power or erratic idle. Not entirely sure where the leak (if it is a leak) is coming from either.
I need to find a shop tomorrow to check the oil pressure at the filter housing. If it checks out, I'll try to find a replacement switch at the dealer. Anything else I should check? I need to be able to drive home next weekend!

Oil pressure warning, possible leak, cel while roadtripping...what fun!
