Alternative Vanos Solenoid Tool

I've found a few posts with tools that people have used but none have worked for me. One promising one was a pipe wrench of some sort, used for things like showers. I bought a variety pack and while long enough, none fit the nut.

I also tried vice grips that someone used which I though we're working but we're just turning the cylinder in the nut.

Any other ideas?
