So a week after buying my 04 330Ci, I find out I'm the lucky owner of a GM transmission! I was surprised to the say least, but now I have to determine what to do. As I shift from Reverse to Drive, it's basically slipping, but eventually grabs. This is usually only the first start of the day. My BMW shop says the "A clutch drum" is bad, so either look for a used transmission, or a re-manufactured one. Anyone have any first hand experience with this. Is a transmission shop an option, for a rebuild? My shop says, no. Just looking for a second opinion. Then there's the question of my extended warranty, which will start in 30 days. I've never used one, and the shop says on major issues it's tough to get them to cover stuff. I'm like, well...that's why I bought it??
