I've been having constant issues with my T56 shifting, especially at high RPM's. It never felt right and sometimes would be nearly impossible to pull out or go into a gear past 4500-5000. With a bit of research, I saw Maynors post about running a Wilwood Compact 7/8" Master Cylinder. I snagged one, had a friend make the bracket for it and installed it along with making my own pedal as the OEM plastic unit was on the verge of breaking trying to depress my spec stage 1 pressure plate.
Shifting now is BUTTER smooth, literally flick my wrist and the SOB pops into gear. 6600 RPM shifts are a breeze! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this unit if you are haven't ANY shifting issues.
I was using a BRAND NEW M3 master cylinder in my car, it could not do the job. Don't cheap out on this, the T56 is an expensive transmission!
My clutch pedal is a manual transmission brake pedal. The leverage point is shifted down a bit so there is increased pedal effort with total stroke length decreasing. I just cut the arm and welded it to the right angle and bent out the bend near the pedal itself.
