Afternoon everyone, unfortunately the FAQ does not seem to work anymore so i am going to try and start a new advice thread for power upgrades. I am new to the tuning world, having spent most of my mechanical career under the hood of old Chevy's. So i have a lot of questions for the field.
1) Brands to go with/ avoid for performance parts (chips, turbos, manifolds, exhaust, etc.)?
2) Upgrades to supplement the upgrades? (belts, transmission, etc.)
3) Past setups done by people not made of money. (I have two kids and a wife, but am starting a job as an auto tech, hopefully with bmw, in a year or two so extra money isnt the easiest to come by)
4) Horror storys of diy'ers
I know some people are going to look at this post and be like "da faq" but i really need some expirenced advice with this stuff. i understand the purpose and function of the various aspects of a turbo system. i can likely install one if i am lent a welder. but past that, i am clueless.
