I'm trying to source a replacement front differential for my 2002 BMW 325xi Touring with 5spd Manual.
I've found for manual 325xi's that BMW switched differentials early 2003.
Early - 31507500797 (03/01/2000 — )
Late - 31507526216 (03/03/2003 — )
According to Real OEM the earlier diffs are "nonexchangeable retrospectively" with the later diff. but that the later diffs are "Exchangeable retrospectively" with the earlier ones.
They appear to be the same ratio, I'd really like to know if I could use a later model #31507526216 in my 2002 325xi.
Appreciate any help.
