ATF Questions

Ok, so I have a 2004 x3, with the 5 speed automatic (i will say this is the first automatic I have owned in my adult life, and much prefer manuals, but this one is ok). The car has right at 200k on it, and is not having any problems at all what so ever with how it drives. At idle, one can here what sounds like the transmission whining just a slight bit, but again there is not issues with how it drives. Evidently there is no dipstick for the transmission under the hood. Should I flush the fluid? Or just let it be since the transmission is not giving any problems? I am not terribly tore up by the whine, but I don't want to ignore something before it becomes a problem. Again the transmission works and operates without issue, it just has a slight whine at idle, it sounds like the power steering pump on my old mustang.
