Suddenly, BMW Seat Belt Buckle Button Stops Don't Fit!

The little black buttons which keep the seat belt buckles from sliding down to the floor on our E30, E24 and only God knows how many more Bimmers . . . suddenly no longer fit together! Either the "pin" in the male component is too small, or the hole in the female component is too large (yes, I know: it amounts to the same thing).

It is indeed a trivial issue . . . but how the heck can a company such as BMW screw up something so simple?!? :mad (we are talking O.E. parts here) And where can I find some (NOS? aftermarket?) that are not mis-made? I am using these pieces for a special non-stock adaptation wherein I cannot simply melt the end of pin with a blunt soldering iron to graft it to the corresponding button. I need about eight of them to complete the project.
