Window regular clip comes out with a bang, mystery broken wire in door

Yesterday while reinstalling the drivers seat after vinyl repairs, I rolled up the driver's side window and it broke with a loud BANG! I'd noticed that this window liked to pop and click as it went up and down, and it even caused the inner door panel to move slightly when it did.

I took it apart tonight to find that the door is full of duct tape and has a ton of broken clips... classic.

The regulator arms had popped out of the front rail, so I cleaned the old grease out with WD-40 and popped the clip back in. Rolled it up, but the window tried to move away from the rubber rail towards the rear and another BANG! Out came the clip.

Any idea what exactly is failing here?

Also, check out this wire and connector. The connector was right in the path of the window. It looks like the wire has been ripped out of something, but I'm not sure what. This could explain my SRS light I guess, or maybe why the rear driver's door doesn't lock/unlock with the key. Any ideas?
